The Italian stainless and special steel long producer Cogne Acciai Speciali announced to introduce an energy surcharge beginning with January 2022 deliveries.
A spokesman of the Italian stainless steel long product producer Acciai Speciali Cogne announced today that the company will introduce a monthly ‘Energy Surcharge’ for deliveries from January 1st 2022 onwards.
The surcharge will be based on price indexes for electricity and gas. He mentioned that the current price development for the key energy forms used in stainless steel production leaves no choice but to introduce this new price component. So far, the absolute values for the January surcharge have not been disclosed, but we will report them as soon as they are public.
